The arts as a stage for kids to broaden their beliefs in what role they can play
The cultural and artistic sector has significant potential to help children flourish and foster the new perspectives and values needed in society - something that is too often overlooked in sustainability discussions. In addition to the messages conveyed through art, the very practice of artistic expression can also equip kids with essential skills for navigating the modern world.
Take theatre, for example. Just as actors step into new roles, embody different perspectives, challenge their boundaries and take bold actions, driving societal change requires the same adaptability, empathy, and courage.
Theatre also provides children with the opportunity to see themselves in different roles and shape their self-identity as capable participants in society. During 2025 this is something that will be explored further...
